If you used your Scotiabank card and don't see Scene+ points in your account yet, there are a few common things you can check to understand what’s happening.
How can I earn points with my Scotiabank card?
You can earn Scene+ points by using an eligible Scotiabank debit or credit card that’s linked to your Scene+ account.
Depending on the product, you may earn base points, accelerated points, or bonus offers.
To make sure your card qualifies, review the full list of eligible Scotiabank Scene+ products.
Is my Scene+ card linked?
First, confirm that your card is an eligible Scotiabank product.
For debit cards, it must be linked to the correct eligible bank account.
You should also check that your Scotiabank card is properly linked to your Scene+ account, as points won't be issued if the link isn’t set up correctly.
Was your transaction eligible?
Some types of transactions don't earn Scene+ points. These include:
Cash advances
Credit card cheques
Returns
Bill payments
Interest or service charges
Annual fees
Bonus points are also not earned on international purchases for Scotiabank Gold American Express cards.
How long does it take for points to post?
Scotiabank transactions usually post within two to three business days.
Once the transaction has posted, Scene+ points typically appear in your Scene+ account within seven business days.
What are Welcome Offers?
Some new Scotiabank debit or credit cards that earn Scene+ points come with a welcome offer.
These offers vary by card and include specific requirements, such as minimum spending or time limits.
Make sure all offer conditions have been met before expecting points to post.

How are Welcome Points awarded for joint cardholders?
Welcome points are awarded to the Scene+ member who made the qualifying purchase.
For joint cardholder accounts, it’s a good idea to check both members’ Scene+ accounts.
Bonus points earned by supplementary cardholders are posted to the Primary cardholder’s Scene+ account.
What if Welcome Points posted to my joint cardholder’s account?
If welcome points were posted to the other joint cardholder’s Scene+ account, Scene+ Member Services can transfer the points.
Both cardholders will need to call together so accounts can be verified.
