If you're running into issues while using Rakuten with Scene+, there are a few common scenarios below that can help explain what’s happening and what to do next.
Transferred points
Once Rakuten issues your payment, your Scene+ points usually appear in your account within 12 hours.
If you don't see them right away, it may just be a short processing delay.
Exclusions
Some online stores don't allow Cash Back to be converted into Scene+ points due to partner agreements.
Even so, you can still earn Scene+ points through Rakuten at hundreds of eligible stores, and new participating retailers are added regularly.
Interrupted linking
If the linking process was interrupted — such as closing the browser window before finishing — you may see a “Sign In” button with three dots when you return.
To fix this:
Close your browser completely
Reopen Rakuten
Start the linking process again
If the issue continues, a fix may already be in progress, and your patience is appreciated.
Linking stuck on Rakuten
If you see a “Let’s Do This!” message but nothing happens, a pop-up blocker is usually the cause.
To resolve:
Disable pop‑up blockers in your browser settings
Refresh the page
Try again
At the moment, this is the only available workaround.
Rakuten Apple app error
On Apple devices, the Rakuten app doesn’t support opening new browser tabs, which is required to complete linking with Scene+.
If you encounter this issue:
Use a web browser on your Apple device instead of the Rakuten app
Rakuten is currently working on a redirect solution to address this limitation.
