Why am I not earning Scene+ points at grocery, convenience, or pharmacy locations?

If you’re not seeing Scene+ points in your account, don’t worry. There are a few common reasons this can happen, and most are easy to fix.


Grocery purchases don’t earn Scene+ points per dollar

At most grocery stores, simply scanning your Scene+ card at checkout doesn’t earn points per dollar.
The main exceptions are:

  • Needs Convenience locations

  • Eligible pharmacy prescription purchases, where applicable

To earn points per dollar on grocery purchases, you need to pay with a Scene+-branded debit or credit card

You can still earn Scene+ points at grocery stores through:

  • Store and flyer offers

  • Loaded offers

  • Coupons

  • Promotional deals
     


Didn’t earn Scene+ points for an offer?

If an offer didn’t award points, double‑check the following:

  • Correct item purchased: Some offers apply only to specific brands, sizes, or weights.

  • Offer was loaded: Offers must be loaded to your account before you pay.

  • Terms and conditions: Some offers exclude gift cards, tobacco, alcohol, or can’t be combined with other promotions.


Points show on the receipt but not in your account

If your receipt shows points but they aren’t in your Scene+ account yet:

  • It may simply be a timing issue.

  • Points can take up to 48 hours to post.

If it’s been longer than that, contact Scene+ Member Services with:

  • A photo of your receipt

  • The offer details

Offer redeemed but receipt shows no points

Some offers have special conditions, such as:

  • Basket offers

  • Spend‑based offers

Bonus points for these may not appear right away.
Depending on the promotion, bonus points can take up to six weeks after the offer ends to be added.

Always review the offer terms to understand how and when points are awarded.


Didn’t receive a verification code to link your Scene+ card?

Try the following:

  • Confirm that the email address on your Scene+ account is correct.
     

  • Check Spam or Junk folders, and all inbox tabs.

  • Add news@news.sceneplus.ca to your contacts or whitelist.
     

  • Wait at least 15 minutes before requesting a new verification code.
